AFTER HER
Collections of illustrated Percy Shelley poems
For my illustrations I tried to recreate Shelley's hallucinated and melancholy atmospheres as much as possible, as well as his powerful and visionary images, selecting the scenes that most struck me and that most impressed me. The common aspect of his poems is certainly this constant search for the presence-absence of love, which I have often represented with a melancholy and graceful female figure, set in a natural environment, often harsh and strong. In his poems there are also mythological and magical references, as well as allegories and personifications, which I enjoyed imagining. The technique for this project is cleaned and simplified, the stains, however present, are relegated to the background, while the colors are mostly delicate, embellished with gold and silver details.
